Well done!

Is this not something we should be saying more to one another? Is this not what we hope the Lord Jesus himself will say to us on that last day that will also be the first day of that forever happiness? ‘Well done, good and faithful servant…’ (Matthew 25). Could he really say that to us, with all our sins and all our failures and all our inadequacies? Apparently, by his grace and in his justifying mercy, it is possible. Can you imagine? To hear those words from the Saviour, the Alpha and the Omega, the only One who really matters… breath-taking, awesome! Our hearts will leap like a calf released from its stall – and perhaps our feet too, I should not be at all surprised! So should we not be also saying this to one another to encourage and inspire? Well done, brother; well done, sister! Instead of the usual critical turn of our minds. It might put us more in the footsteps of Jesus…

‘Well done, good and faithful servant. Come and share your Master’s happiness!’
